We’ll be lucky to see 10% vote in the Waikato Regional Council by-election. 10%… let that sink in. 10% will decide on who represents Hamiltonian’s in a governing body that makes decisions on the protection (and restoration) of our environment; regional economic focus and community initiatives.
I know it’s hard to see what difference that vote will make – but think of it this way… do you want someone who views the river as a taonga, that needs protecting for future generations or do you want someone who will advocate for cuts and savings for the ratepayer?
Do you see Hamilton’s future in intensive farming or in technology? Should the ratepayer contribute to community building and making Hamilton a great place to live – or is that up to private interests and the community themselves?
Come along to get some answers…
