I’m not convinced that EVERYBODY goes to the beach over Waitangi weekend (especially as this year looks to be like last year with crappy weather) so here’s a few things to do here in the Tron.
Of course, the main thing you should go to is Market Place, which is on from 9-1pm tomorrow (Saturday) at the Celebrating Age Centre on Victoria Street. Also on tomorrow is an event Celebrating Waitangi Day at the Waikato Museum (which conveniently is next door). It’s on from 10-5pm – a great opportunity to check out the Museum if you haven’t been for a while. Out west is Waitangi Day in Nawton from 10-3pm at the Western Community Centre. Fun for the family.
On Sunday, canine lovers can head to Days Park, on River road from 9-12pm for the Beneful Bark in the Park. My dog is way to crazy for that one, so we’ll be giving it a miss.
Fingers crossed the weather plays nice on Sunday for the Mansfield Garden Party at the Rose gardens. Running from 10-5pm there is HEAPS going on, including a Glory Days Salon in the Pavillion. Definitely worth checking out.
